We were tasked with a super ultra top secret project from Spotify to translate their complicated legal case against Apple into something people could understand. Due to the classified nature of the project, the size of the creative team was kept to a minimum. That meant I was copywriting as much as art directing, and receiving as much legal feedback as creative feedback.

The simplest (legal) way we found to break down Spotify’s legal argument? It’s Time to Play Fair.

Art Director: Chris Vanderhurst, Copywriters: Chris Vanderhurst and Paul Eccles, Creative Director: Matt Cridland, Animator: Paul Shriever

For some reason the original with over 2 million views got taken down :(

TimeToPlayFair.com is still live for your viewing pleasure. Otherwise, here are some pretty screenshots.

This was a massive undertaking for such a small team, so there is a lot of a creative process to be proud of. This is a tiny piece of some of the early storyboards and character design process.
